Paperboy 2019 : 3.0
On 29th June, on one of the hottest days of 2019 so far, we ran our 3rd incarnation of the Paperboy ride in conjunction with the guys from Northbrewco
This brings together some of our favourite things - beers, bikes, and food. And clearly good times.
2019 didn't disappoint....
95 riders from as far flung as London and the Lake District came along to ride a hilly route out of the Northbrewco brewery plotted around North Bar Social in Otley, and North Bar in Harrogate.
Riders came on all sorts of two wheels - mountain bikes, fixies and some pretty high end carbon whips. Fuel up front was provided buy Rabbit Hole Coffee, with Ste doing a sterling job of smashing through the flat whites.
The heat definitely took it's toll on some of the riders and slowed things up a bit. After the gradual ascent out of Otley on Newall Carr road, there followed descent down into Timble and Fewston then some more climbing up to Stainburn Forest which was always going to hit hard
More refuelling in Harrogate and then it was on the return stint down towards Wetherby and Bardsey
A cheeky little climb up Rigton Bank caught a few people out, especially the fixed gear crew who had to use the full width of the road. Nasty towards the end....
The PMRR boys hit it hard though, and were back at Eat North a good hour and a half before any of the other riders.
Back at the brewery it was great to have local representation from the Valley Striders, who were out in force.
Everyone received some of the PARIA X Northbrewco IPA - looking on point with the Camo can design, as well as some camo socks and a beer from the tap.
Great to see so much love for the event, and PARIA and Northbrew.
