Artist Profile: Misc ETC

Our Paperboy ride has become a standout moment on the cycling calendar; a true milestone that never misses the mark. It’s always a buzz to see so many of the Paria fam rolling deep, loud and proud.

It’s also a chance for us to flex our creative muscles (not that we ever need much convincing). We love taking our design ethos beyond the jersey/ bib shorts into events, beer cans, and now, walls.

For 2025, we’ve seriously levelled up. A chance conversation in the Paria shop led to a link-up with local street artist and full-time sprayer Misc Etc. Based just down the road from our Leeds HQ, he was the perfect fit for a collab that spans cycling, street culture, and community.

The brief? Create artwork that ties together our shop mural, this year’s colab jersey, a limited edition beer can, and the vibe of the event itself. Misc. came through swinging his Crayola hammer and absolutely nailed it.

We managed to grab a chat with the man himself (strictly no names – he does, after all, operate quite literally on the streets).

MISC.ETC x PARIA: Movement, Murals & Making Streetwear Mean Something

Q: Alright, for those who don’t know, who is MISC.ETC?
MISC.ETC: I’m a street artist and designer based in Leeds. My work’s a bit of a mash-up – part graphic, part loose and abstract. I’m always playing with rhythm, layering, and motion. Nothing too clean or polished. I like things that feel alive, like they could change at any second. That’s the space I work in - bold visuals, but not necessarily shouting the message. You’re meant to find your own way through it.

Q: You’ve done murals, prints, and now… cycling jerseys? How did that come about?
MISC.ETC: Honestly? It started with a random overheard convo in the Paria shop. Someone mentioned I was local, and next thing I know, I’m chatting with the crew about how our worlds could collide. I’ve always respected what Paria does-proper DIY organic energy, aspiring to push boundaries, and not afraid to mix things up. So yeah, it felt like a natural fit.

Q: This project feels like something different for you. What was the brief?
MISC.ETC: The goal was to create something that could live across a mural, a jersey, an event, and even a beer can-but still feel like one complete piece. Not easy, but also right up my street. I leaned into the idea of movement-how art can shift depending on where it is. Whether it’s flying past you on a bike or sprayed 10ft high on a wall, it had to carry the same energy.

Q: The jersey design’s got serious street attitude. Talk us through the look.
MISC.ETC: I wanted it to feel raw, like it just came straight out of the spray can. The splatters, the off-kilter layers, the lack of symmetry—it’s all deliberate. Urban cycling’s fast, unpredictable, full of edge. I tried to reflect that. It’s not just a jersey, it’s wearable art. Something that turns heads whether you’re riding or hanging out post-ride with a pint.

Q: How did working with Paria shape the project?
MISC.ETC: Paria gave me the freedom to go for it, which makes all the difference. They’ve got a strong visual identity already, so it wasn’t about matching that—it was about expanding on it. Bringing some of the grit and looseness of the streets into their world of cycling, design and culture. They’re not your average kit brand, and I’m not your average illustrator, so yeah—felt like a good kind of chaos.

Q: Final thoughts – what do you hope people take from this collab?
MISC.ETC: I hope it moves them, literally or not. Whether you’re smashing hills in the jersey, catching a glimpse of the mural, or sipping the beer—it’s all connected by a shared energy. Fast, bold, a bit wild. Just like Paria. Just like the streets.
