PARIA Paperboy 10: A Decade of Riding, Running & Community

Celebrating 10 Years of the PARIA Paperboy Cycling and Running Event

Can you believe it's been a decade?

Ten years ago, the very first PARIA Paperboy started as a grassroots community link-up. It wasn't about racing, ego, or handing people's arses to them on the bike. It was built on a simple foundation: bringing like-minded brands and people together, exploring our landscapes, celebrating creativity, collective movement, and enjoying a few beers along the way.

Originally created alongside our friends at North Bar, the ride has since spawned an annual bespoke beer, limited-edition cycling jerseys, custom musettes, and even inspired the mural at the PARIA store. While the numbers have grown year after year, the vibe remains exactly the same: relaxed, inclusive, and community-driven.

Over the past decade, Paperboy has become one of Yorkshire's most anticipated grassroots cycling events, bringing together cyclists, runners, creatives, and independent brands from across the UK.

Fast forward to this year, and Paperboy 10 officially solidified its place as a cultural staple. To mark the landmark 10th anniversary, we didn't simply throw a bigger party—we expanded the entire family.

For the first time ever, the signature social bike ride was joined by our inaugural 10km and 20km running events. Whether you turned up to tackle punchy Yorkshire climbs or lace up your trainers to explore Leeds on foot, the energy this year was completely unmatched.

The Miles: Two Wheels & Fresh Footsteps

Paperboy has always promised punchy elevations, social miles, and proper hospitality—and this anniversary edition delivered exactly that.

The Ride

45 miles of beautiful, brutal Yorkshire roads featuring over 4,500 feet of climbing.

Tackling tough ascents such as the climb out of Otley and the iconic Reverse Cow & Calf kept everyone honest, but shared drafting, encouragement, and plenty of banter pulled everyone through.

The route showcased some of the best road cycling Yorkshire has to offer, combining challenging climbs, stunning scenery, and classic PARIA hospitality.

The Runs

The debut of our 10km and 20km routes brought a completely new dynamic to the day.

Seeing a community of runners and urban explorers taking over signposted routes along the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and around Headingley alongside the cyclists was exactly what this creative collective is all about.

The addition of the running events (together with our running kit) reflects PARIA's growing involvement in both cycling and running culture, helping bring together different communities through movement, creativity, and shared experiences.

A Massive Tribute to the People Who Make Paperboy Happen

An event like this doesn't just happen.

It takes an absolute village, and we want to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who poured their heart, soul, and weekend into making the 10th anniversary the biggest and best Paperboy yet.

To Our Family & Friends

To the partners, mates, and family members who woke up at the crack of dawn: thank you.

Whether you were standing at a signpost directing riders and runners, handing out hydration, staffing the bag drop, marshalling junctions, or simply shouting encouragement when the legs were giving up; you are the heartbeat of Paperboy.

We literally couldn't do this without you.

To Our Sponsors & Partners

We're incredibly fortunate to work alongside brands and venues that align perfectly with our community-first ethos.

Core to PARIA has been to bring together like-minded people for a good time. The brands we work flow along the same lines, strong brands who are out to make a little bit of a difference. And this year was no exception.

The After-Party: Good Vibes in the Yarden

If you didn't stay for a pint, did you even do Paperboy?

Once the bikes were racked and the running shoes kicked off, the Brudenell yarden transformed into a masterclass in good vibes, great conversations, and well-earned recovery beers.

Seeing cyclists, runners, local creatives, friends, family, and supporters all sharing a drink and a laugh is exactly why PARIA started this event ten years ago.

More than a cycling sportive or running event, Paperboy has become a celebration of community, independent culture, and the belief that sport should be inclusive, welcoming, and fun

Here's to the Next Decade
