NVAYRK PARIA X Redhook Crit representing

The last weekend in April can mean only one thing on the international Crit scene – the kick off for Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn.

For the 2018 season, we are proud to be supporting the NVAYRK team who will take the Paria name and Kit as they race on the crit calendar around the globe. Our riders have a strong presence on the crit team, and we have worked hard to develop kits and designs which fit the needs and demands placed on riders who call track bikes and the streets their home. Having met the NVAYRK team, it seemed a natural place to collaborate and we are looking to take the link beyond tech wear off the bike as the year progresses.

Down to business, and the team. Prior to the big day itself,  we wanted to get to know the team a bit better, so what better than for them to tell you about themselves.

MICHAEL STROMBERG
Michael grew up as a competitive ski racer in Colorado, the transition to bikes and the competitive environment is not an unnatural one. Though 2015 has been his first competitive season, it has gone very well and there is much more to come. Also an avid road racer, Michael trains and races road and track bikes. When not a track bike, you will find him training distance on his Tarmac, or racing in Road Races and Criteriums in NYC and the eastern seaboard.

FEDERICO MOTTA
Italian, more urban profile because he used to be a bike-messenger in London, “Fede” has been a linchpin to get all essential for the 2016 season and aspire to great things. It is a person who believes in teamwork and has shown from the first moment when he joined the NVAYRK family; he also has the virtue to see the competitions as something fun, which spreads to all those who make up the team and leads to celebrate any victory by “smaller” than this is.

Fede prepare himself for criteriums training at the Herne Hill velodrome and by participating at cyclocross races like Rapha Supercross Series and Incredibly Cross.

Team Riders

PETER JANAK
With a MTB background, Peter grew up in Slovakia as an ice hockey player becoming a Pro, always with passion for cycling which was also part of his training program. He rode in 2015 from London (UK) to his hometown Martin (Slovakia). A total of 1769 km in 76 hours (in 9 days across 6 countries) with 18,397m of elevation gain, also 2015 was his first competitive season on track.

CHAZ KIMBLE
Can’t remember when I first rode on two wheels, my Old man raced in the 70’s so suppose I had no choice. First it was BMX then MTB but once I was big enough to hop on a Track bike there was no going back. I raced at Herne Hill first, scratch races, devils and madisons. I did the Good Friday meet when it first used the Olympic Track and even made it to Manchester for my first Junior Nationals I managed get in the top 10 for the Individual Pursuit riding for VC Loundres. But all that Track scene was a bit too “team GB” for me so when Nocturne was still at Smithfield I dipped my toes into the murky waters of Fixie Crits… and loved it.

EUAN CATTERMOLE
Being a third generation cyclist, I’ve been riding and racing since a very young age. I’ve dabbled in a bit of road and cross over the years but track racing has always been my passion.

Having suffered with poor health throughout most of my childhood, I sadly contracted ME/CFS when I was 16 and was forced to leave school and give up cycling.  My passion for cycling never faded and I started working as a cycling coach at Herne Hill Velodrome, where I still work today. Sharing the sport I love with other people kept the fire burning inside me and as my health started to improve, I was able to gradually make my way back into the competitive side of the sport and have loved every second of it.
